Hammer Mill:
The GD and 2D hammer mills are designed for the animal feed industry, to grind raw materials into small particles and meal. Both the GD and 2D hammer mill series cover capacities ranging from 5 to 100 tons per hour, dependent on type of raw material, formula and required grinding structure. It is possible to use automatic screen exchange system together with this machine which can decrease the time of screen exchange from 20 to 1 minute.

Pellet Mill:
Animal feed pellets can be produced in several diameters and hardnesses, by pelletizing raw materials after grinding, mixing and conditioning. Producing the feed in shape of pellet can facilitate product transportation, more homogeneity and prevention of feed selection by animal. The Van Aarsen C and CU pellet mill range enable capacities up to 60 tons per hour depending on various parameters.

Conditioners:
Conditioning is the result of three variables: moisture, temperature and time. As moisture and temperature are related, time is the ultimate variable to enhance the process. Time can be gained with the application of a Long Term Conditioner (LTC). The LTC, consisting of a steam mixer, automatic steam quantity control and a Long Term Vessel (LTV), significantly improves the process of feed conditioning. This has a major effect on biosecurity, optimizing the nutritional quality of the feed and enhancing the pelletability of the product as well as improving the pellet quality.

Coater:
The Van Aarsen coaters are designed to add fats and soluble additives such as enzymes and probiotics on animal feed pellets. It can increase energy density of the pellets by higher liquids inclusion levels. The advantages of using this system instead of adding fat in die is to prevent contamination in pellet mill, more accurate dosing and better distribution of additives in the pellets.

Counterflow Cooler:
The Van Aarsen counterflow cooling system is designed for cooling pellets after pelletizing back to about 5°C above ambient air temperature. This is done to achieve a good PDI, flow ability, protection against decay and minimizing the chemical and biochemical reactions. The counterflow cooling principle was invented by Van Aarsen and has become a blueprint all over the world within feed industry.
Crumbler:
During crumbling pellets are reduced to crumbs. The advantages of the pelleting process are maintained as much as possible. The size of the crumbs is adapted to the need of the animal and the feeding system. Meal intake consumes a lot of energy for an animal; crumbs on the other hand can be quickly and easily consumed.
Sieving Machines:
Sieving of raw materials may take place at the beginning of the process or after pelleting and crumbling and is intended to separate sizes. By sieving the raw materials first, the grinding process is optimized and energy can be saved. Smaller sizes do not need to be grinded. By sieving pellets and crumbles fines are sorted out, improving the quality of the end product. The fines itself are returned into the process preventing waste of raw materials.
